• Expose and eliminate all forms of violations of women’s rights within the Middle Eastern communities in the UK and the Middle Eastern countries.
• Raise awareness about women’s rights within the Middle Eastern communities and the wider society.
• Enable the voices and experiences of women to be heard by policy makers and the wider community for a better life and equal and universal rights for women.

International Women’s Day 2007, MECWR organised an event talking about “The Background and Dimensions of ‘Honour’ Based Violence in the Middle Eastern Community”, which was hosted by Southwark Council.
